Picardy Tete De Cuvee
$75.00 A BOTTLE
The Picardy vineyard is situated on a gentle north facing slope at an altitude of 300 metres and 35 kilometres from the Southern Ocean. The site was specially selected by Bill Pannell for its well-drained loam/gravel soils. Bill felt that this site would be perfectly suited to the production of high quality cool climate wines.
A perfect match with duck, casseroles and stews like Beef Bourguignon! Also great with fish and pasta dishes.
Tete De Cuvee means the best wine of the vintage. This wine was born through Bill and Dan’s love of the great Premier Cru and Grand Cru red wines and their desire to make the best Pinot Noir of which Picardy is capable. This wine is not a reserve wine made in the usual method of selecting the best barrels for separate bottling. Instead, it is made entirely as a separate wine with a heavier emphasis on intensity, complexity, structure and cellaring potential.
