WINEMAKING NOTES

The Lefroy Brook vinyard is seperated from Lillian by the Pemberton-Northcliffe railway line. It is a continuation of the soil, with a well defined northerly aspect enhancing the unique micro-climate, a crucible surrounded by the cool shaded forest. it is also the oldest Pemberton vineyard, planted by the Holt family in 1982. Long-serving (and continuing consultant) viticulturist to Leeuwin Estate John Brocksopp has established 2.8ha of the Rhone trio of marsanne, roussanne and viognier, and 0.4ha of shiraz. He is also purchasing grapes from other growers in Pemberton.

FOOD PAIRING

A perfect match with duck, casseroles and stews like Beef Bourguignon! Also great with fish and pasta dishes.

TASTING NOTES

This Pinot has alluring aromatics with juicy and oh-so sweet cherry and red fruits, menthol and eucalypt and supple, silky tannins. This is wine to savour.
