WINEMAKING NOTES

Manjimup often has the coldest maximum temperature in Western Australia. The long, and relatively cool growing season, and the fertile jarrah and karri loam soils create the terroir which is perfect for growing intensely flavoursome grapes.  Chestnut Grove is a family owned and operated vineyard, and we take great pride in turning these grapes into wines of distinction in our Winery on the estate. The best parcels of estate grown fruit from the Manjimup region of Western Australia were selected for the Reserve Shiraz.

FOOD PAIRING

Perfectly suited to big flavours and lots of spice! Roast beef, barbecue, stews, chocolate and fruit will team beatifully with a great Shiraz.

TASTING NOTES

Uplifted red berry, floral perfume scents, exotic spice and leafy forest floor complexity provide classic Pinot Noir characteristics from perfect ripening conditions in Manjimup. Maturation in French oak barriques for 14 months provides toasty nutty complexity. Upfront sweet red plum is supported by supple smooth tannins and long finish. The Reserve is a fine elegant Pinot Noir style designed to age gracefully for 8 – 10 years in bottle. 13.5% Alcohol
