WINEMAKING NOTES
Manjimup often has the coldest maximum temperature in Western Australia. The long, and relatively cool growing season, and the fertile jarrah and karri loam soils create the terroir which is perfect for growing intensely flavoursome grapes. Chestnut Grove is a family owned and operated vineyard, and we take great pride in turning these grapes into wines of distinction in our Winery on the estate. Estate grown fruit sourced from 28 year old vines, offer classic cool climate refinement and spicy complexity.
FOOD PAIRING
Perfectly suited to big flavours and lots of spice! Roast beef, barbecue, stews, chocolate and fruit will team beatifully with a great Shiraz.
TASTING NOTES
This shiraz has attractive ripe mulberry and sweet cherry fruits combine with more savoury earthy mineral notes. Ground spice and subtle pepper aromas add a lifted intensity. Oak matured for 12 months adds dusty vanillin and toasty edges. A medium bodied style with fine supple tannins, this lovely balanced wine will reward further cellaring. 13.5% Alcohol
