WINEMAKING NOTES
Manjimup often has the coldest maximum temperature in Western Australia. The long, and relatively cool growing season, and the fertile jarrah and karri loam soils create the terroir which is perfect for growing intensely flavoursome grapes. Chestnut Grove is a family owned and operated vineyard, and we take great pride in turning these grapes into wines of distinction in our Winery on the estate. Low yielding vines grown in the gravelly loam soils on the Chestnut Grove estate provides quality parcels of Merlot grown in ideal temperate ripening conditions

Delicious with all things Italian, pizza, meatballs and pasta! Also great with most meats just add a hint of roseamry, thyme or oregano!
TASTING NOTES
Fresh aromas of ripe blackberries, cherries and chocolate/mocha notes. Underlying Christmas cake spice, raisins, brandied fruits and aged leathery notes add complexity. Excellent persistent fine bead forming a delicate crown, with an elegant and harmonious palate of complex yeasty notes and caramel flavours. Soft and balanced with a sweet rich brooding mid palate, finishing with fine dry tannins. Especially crafted to capture its intricate style for enjoyment now, or cellar to gracefully enhance its aged complexity and sophistication. 13.5% Alcohol
