WINEMAKING NOTES

Manjimup often has the coldest maximum temperature in Western Australia. The long, and relatively cool growing season, and the fertile jarrah and karri loam soils create the terroir which is perfect for growing intensely flavoursome grapes. Chestnut Grove is a family owned and operated vineyard, and we take great pride in turning these grapes into wines of distinction in our Winery on the estate. Estate grown fruit sourced from 28 year old vines, offer classic cool climate refinement and spicy complexity.

FOOD PAIRING

Delicous with seafood like crabs, prawns and oysters! Also great with pasta and risottos. Why not try with some sushi!

TASTING NOTES

Pale Straw colour, citrus peel, lime zest, nettle, floral spice and lemongrass aromas offer a fresh uplifted clean fruit driven style Chardonnay. Sweet brioche and subtle vanilla extract from French Oak Barriques add complexity and nutty layers. On the palate, the wine is very structured and linear with fine acidity and cool climate elegance. White peach and mandarin flavours burst onto the palate. Lees stirring and partial secondary fermentation adds silky texture and creamy mouth feel. The palate is long and finishes with dry mineral edges making this wine perfect with most foods. Further bottle maturation for 3-5 years will encourage complexity and softness. 13.5% Alcohol
